Our online coordinator controls Luna Park’s digital world, including our website, online campaigns, social media and e-newsletters. Candidates should be well-versed in the limitations and capabilities of popular emerging technology platforms and have the daring to bend these rules to accomplish desired outcomes. In one season with us, expect to write at least half of a Harry Potter novel in copy, Tweets and Facebook updates (the first book, not the last one). In return, you will get paid to have a super-fun summer, ride on roller-coasters for free (you HAVE to be comfortable on rides) and get access to one of the most popular industries out there. You can’t help but smile at an amusement park. You ready?

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage engaging content for our website, social media and e-newsletters, including frequently writing witty copy,  snapping photos/filming vids and optimizing for search
  • Brainstorm and create-ify eye-catching graphics for internal and external communications
  • Track, measure and analyze online performance data and communicating ROI to the executive suite
  • Day-to-day digital community management, including damage control and monitoring social channels
  • Manage guest compliments, complaints and questions submitted through social media and email
  • Assisting in general marketing department campaigns and events as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Computer Science or English
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability to mimic different stylistic voices
  • Demonstrated ability to engage a wide audience of internal/external stakeholders in the digital sphere
  • Proficiency with Illustrator, Photoshop, web analytics tools, and online publishing software and knowledge of basic HTML and CSS
  • In-depth, intuitive knowledge and understanding of online community and social medial platforms with at least 2 years of experience in social media marketing
  • Atention to detail, flexibility and sense of humor
  • Driven to excel in a collaborative, deadline-driven, rapidly-changing environment
  • Frequently thinks outside the box and is comfortable voicing “ridiculous” ideas
  • Ability to stand on one’s feet for 5 hours at a time and can do a mad dash through the park in a minute flat (we’re all still working on doing that last one)
  • Possession of a driver’s license is necessary for sporadic transportation needs
  • Ability to catch any copy mistakes made in this job description and the know-how to tactfully bring them up

Luna Park needs someone who’s trustworthy, fast and super fun because Coney Island is chock full of mermaids, circus freaks and pirates that go “Arg!” This gig is unlike any other social media job - you’ll be running around creating content with a small camera and your wits, coordinating with our photographers and videographers and pestering staff members for exciting information for our online audience.
